LCD HDTV vs PC Monitor for Preview

I'm probably gonna run out today and get a 2nd monitor for my PC. it's going to be a preview monitor. Current lcd is a cheap 1440x900 LCD PC monitor. Would it be wise to go with an HDTV as a preview monitor, or stick with a PC monitor? My PC has all the connections to go either way.
I am hoping to produce the most accurate color, as my project will be viewed both online and on dvd/bluray. Let me know what you all think.

Computer monitor + color calibrator

Make sure to get a NON-GLOSSY screen! A glossy screen will make color correcting a ***** (i know). Dell makes some good ones.
