LCD exposure change?

Has anyone noticed on their D90 that, when you are recording with AE-L activated, and then press the shutter to snap a still, that the exposure in Liveview has changed? When I do this, I have to turn off ae-L and then try to re-expose. Is there some setting I haven't tweaked?

Just a wild shot in the dark but might it be something like this?

I have been unable to get my hands on a GH1 even though I've had one on backorder since May 5th on J&R and June 20th from Pany Direct. But the GH1 manual I downloaded says that in Setup Menu / under LCD mode / you can pick(Off, auto power LCD, power LCD). You want to pick Off instead of Auto. If you have it set to auto, when the lighting around you changes, the LCD changes too. The Auto Power LCD function automatically boosts brightness by as much as 40%, depending on the shooting condition.

no, it's just that live view sets exposure from scratch after taking a still. no, i haven't found a setting to change that unfortunately.
