F3: LCD backlight has died

Hi guys,

The backlight for the LCD screen on my F3 has died. The screen still seems to be working fine, but is incredibly hard to see (obviously). I don't really need it for anything but changing framerates on the camera, so it's not urgent at all, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this before with their F3, and can comment on what the repair process/costs were?

Cheers,

Mark

You've checked the backlight button on the left side of the camera? Just to make sure it hasn't been switched off.

Haha! Oh wow, how'd I miss those :p thanks man, I'll check if that's the issue... I rather suspect it might be!

I sent an F3 in for repair once because I didn't check that switch. Cost me over $300 for nothing. Good thing you got saved. In my case I actually had the backlight die once on an EX-1 so I was primed to believe it.
