Lavalier clothing noise?

Sometimes I strip my MKE-2 and run it through a button hole. Be it a jacket, shirt or other clothings that have a button hole. I've done some testing with the Invisilav and although it does protect the microphone I find it very difficult to get it to stick due to the silicon surface of the Invisilav. The stickers are worthless to handle.

As long as the person only wears a shirt, under the collar is a good place for microphones. To put it inside the tie is another good spot. When outdoors and the person is wearing an outdoor jacket I usually use a windfur and microphone placed underneath the jacket. This works great and I seldom have any wind noise to speak of. There's are so many situations and each needs a unique placement and technique to avoid noise.

The B6 mics are great.. hide 'em in plain sight. Unfortunately they are prone to air turbulence, but you can't have everything. They have three frequency response caps and are available in three attenuation levels.

I found a trick for the invisilav. Use top stick and sand down the outside of the invisilav with high grit sand paper. Either the sand paper increases the surface area or gets rid of whatever is coating the invisilav because the top stick actually sticks after the sanding. It needs to be redone every once in a while, but the invisilav is nice because it has very little self noise from rubbing.
