Hey guys looking to buy my first set of lav mics for an upcoming documentary I'm doing. Just want some suggestions as to what to look for? I'm recording with a Zoom H4N and at this point I don't have a mixer (I know!). How do the lav mics work and how would they function with the zoom?
Cheers guys!

Depends on your needs. Is this just for seated interviews, or do you need mobility? If it's the former, get hard-wired lavs, terminated with XLR and wired to use phantom power. If you need mobility, you'll probably need wireless. Check the Audio 101 sticky for information on both lav mics and wireless systems, including some comparisons and shootouts.
