Lather, Rinse, Repeat

So I have to make a quick slideshow via FCP. Yeah, I know ... don't get me started. ANYWAY, I have 18 minutes of clips at 4 seconds each, and they all need a cross disolve or whatever. Is there a way to just drag it down one time, and have it apply the effect to all of the pictures? This whole right click, add transition, right click, add transition, right click, and so on ... it's getting old.

Test this with a copy of a timeline or something first.
Select all the clips in the timeline, making sure the play head is at the beginning. then drag all clips to the canvas and drop into the overwrite with transition well. that should apply your default transition at every cut. all in one shot.
