FS7: Latest thinking on wireless monitoring

Ah well, that's a different tale. If I have to use a camera with only HDMI out port I'll just build out the back end with outboard components to deliver appropriate outs and power distro. Most like an MD-HX, which would give me both HDMI out (if using an unmodified Connex) and up to four SDI outs. Or an HDMI splitter if in the situation you described (I have my standard Connex Mini transmitters housed with SDI converters to avoid a lot of this). It's nice to have everything packaged up neat but more flexible without sometimes.

HDMI does make everything crap, doesn't it. I use those ribbon connectors in the rehouses mentioned above but they are really only useful within a closed assembly as they are so fragile. Takes hardly anything to crimp them and boom, the ribbon is done for.

We all have different needs. Being poor I only have one transmitter and need to swap it fast from A-B cameras (A cam=FS7, B cam = something on my gimbal, in general)

You may enjoy a photo of my 'housed' transmitter/splitter, it is fairly minimalist but certainly protects the ribbon! - Ive now added an Arca quick release to the bottom for quick moves, and a BPU to the back which powers the thing and has a couple more Dtaps which can power DSLR camera and focus if needed.
