Latest short comedy

I can't wait Obin! I loved your past shorts. The motorcycle cop was a good one, and I liked the Hunters one very much! Did you ever pick a production name?
 
well....I kinda like LOLfilms.com and I bought it....maybe it's not the most "professional" name...but then again, our work is not the most "corporate", I would gander to say it's got a weird edge to it....so maybe it all fits...who knows...I know we can't stop making funny shorts, it's like an addiction, I just can't stop.

Looks like I need a pickup shot, so I don't think we will have it online today...arggg...;)
 
The screen grab makes me quite interested in what the video is. I'll be watching the thread to make sure I check it out when you post it.
 
I have to say that I still have the dvx with HD out, one day when I get a mac laptop I will use it, it's greenscreen images are far better then the hvx, for that matter it's dynamic range is far better..thing is..the hvx is good enough...that is the issue, and it's so easy to use! and don't forget 60fps!?!? ROCKIN

I guess the real deal for me is I HATE cords and cables on my rig while I shoot.

That's really a great short. You have a unique perspective and comedic sense of humor. That's refreshing! I'm making a sketch comedy show right now, so when I get somethings together I'll put them up here.


This one, I like a lot more than the cop brutality piece. The imagery is stunning. The exterior shots.. and the telephoto shots down the bar... Loos smashing! The only part that struck me as a bit out of place was the bum bumbing into that guy and stumbling off. Seems like the other guy didn't sell it very well and it just looks contrived... kind of a forced bump and such. But that's just kind of my opinion and what struck out at me.


Other than that... looks stunning. Funny joke at the end. Different and unique characters... This is a keeper and thanks for showing!


Also... Did you use the M2? What were your settings? Exterior lighting? Interior? Looks like a MILLION BUCKS...
 
it looked good, punchline was a little ho-hum, but i think that's just my personal taste talking there. I'm still a fan of the short with the two good ol' boys hunting in the woods
 
That was really funny. The whole piece looked great, great camera work, nice colors, lighting, it had a good feel to it. The acting was pretty good as well. I think the guy who played the drunk did a nice job. Very clever punch line.
 
I have a new update, please re-download the file and watch again, it's much higher quality and size now...;)

Ok, that was funny. A billion times better than the cop one. Acting was top notch, lighting and CC was fabulous too. Can't wait to see a larger file size.

this is a beta version, no credits yet, but we could not help wanting to get it to you guys for some feeds, watching it so many times in the edit and all makes us hate the thing, and we have NO prespective on the work, to me it's like...ohhh hummm...I can't stand it...so fresh eyes are a welcome.

first, your stuff LOOKS amazing. the road rules one was especially dope.
as far as your sense of humor, it's kinda elementary schoolish. i think if your going to all this trouble of developing shorts with so much production value, work on the writting. hell if you just googled the word "joke" you'd find a ton of stuff better than "road rules" and the 911 short. this ONE was very funny but overall your "level" of humor seems like the joke books i used to buy in the 3rd grade.
but hey your technical ability is the best on this site, to me.
 
i know what you mean. thing is, our downloads are much higher on the stupid redneck clip, can you argue with the consumer???

we will continue making 'stupid' stuff if it gets us more downloads.

stupid is fine, i happen to loooove stupid. but i think there's a certain finesse to stupid that's real hit and miss. for instance (eidted as requested) the @^%#!&@#%*&!@$%!@$!@ joke is stupid but the last shot of him Q@#*$&*&!@#^$*&@#$@#$& makes me LOL everytime. nothing feels even slightly amussing to me until i see that shot. again this is just my opinion and only ment constructively as i think your technical ability is great and i'd love to see you do something that strikes such a chord that it carries you a long way because as good as you are techniclly some dumba$$ kid with a sh!tty comcorder but innovative/provocative/shocking content is gonna win the popularity contest that is entertainment every single time.
