Three items remaining. I dont really care if these go or not. I'm leaving town in 5 days. If you want them, take them now. I will ship the LCD or lens Controller if desired. Crane is local pickup only. Shipping extra.

Varizoom 7" Widescreen LCD Display w/ 2 batteries and Noga Arm

Retail: $720
Asking: $500 firm + shipping

Varizoom Stealth PZFI w/ upgraded focus wheel and 10' cord extension

The picture at Varizoom shows this controller with the upgraded wheel is does cost extra.

Retail: $320
Asking: $250 firm + shipping

This is an awesome controller and I cant imagine shooting the DVX or HVX without one. Price is FIRM at $250. If you want a controller and want to save $70 PLUS save TAX, PLUS save SHIPPING, then this is a great deal. The upgraded focus wheel is a MUST. It is awesome to focus the camera with that upgraded wheel, and my Varizoom focus assist w/ LCD setup is a lifesaver. The 10' Cord is a must for crane/jib work. I plan on getting an HVX, so if this doesnt sell at the asking price, I will gladly keep it. If you want a GREAT DEAL, act now.

10' Kessler Knockoff Ghetto Crane

Retail: $450-$650 (there is no equivalent size)
Asking: $300 firm
Offers: None. Lots of compliments on design and build, ZERO interest in buying it.

You can see in the pictures. This thing is so ugly it is a work of art. This thing is so ugly that it will never sell. I understand this. This doesn't keep me from offering it. It has the full functionality of a Kessler without the annoyingly nice paint job and professional machining. I have over $200 in aluminum and hardware and several full days of construction. There is easily over $300 in thing thing and it is well worth it. If a 12' Kessler is worth $650 for getting 12' crane shots, this is worth at least $500 to get 10' crane shots. IF YOU WANT A GREAT CRANE: ACT NOW. If you THINK you want to BUILD one: just buy this and save yourself a headache. If you MUST have a PRETTY PAINT JOB... this is not for you.

I thought the Varizoom came with 4 batteries initially with you asking $600?
Is it now only two batteries for $500? If each battery costs $90 that seems a little off?

Not off at all. How much would you like me to charge for the batteries?

Total price of the WHOLE kit with 4 batteries RETAILS for approx. $900. I was offering it for $600. That is $300 off retail.

The revised kit is w/ 2 batteries and retails for approx. $720. I'm offering it for $500. That is a savings of $220. That is pretty much right in line, yes? USUALLY, the MORE you buy, the BIGGER the discount. Yes?

If you want, I will offer you the original kit for $600. Or, if it suits your budget better, I have a second option. A TWO battery kit for $100 less.

Of course, if neither of those suits you, then maybe this is not the equipment for you.

I just wonder if you are asserting that when ADDING items, I should add them at about 50% retail, but when SUBTRACTING them, I should do so at FULL retail. What a wonderful world that would be!

Thank you for the help in pricing the items, however.

Ahh ok. I thought your intention was to offer a "last call" kind of discount. Didn't realize you were instead just offering a smaller/cheaper package version, as that wasn't specified. Hence the confusion.

I can see how my previous statement could be taken differently, although I think you overreacted a little.

Mostly thread crappers and lowballers. Not that you would be included in either of those, Ryan.

Like I mentioned, I dont really care if I let these go. I'll always have a use for them. It's people that waste sellers time with nonsense that annoys me the most.

And, in case you haven't read the rules sticky, #5:

--If you're not interested in the item(s) for sale please do not respond or reply in the post.
I can only guess the rules are there for a reason.

But thank you for the input.

BTW, I have recieved 3 PMs so far in support of my original comments. I'm sure there are plenty more that disagree with me, but also more that agree.

I hope this isn't becoming something, because it would be silly if it did... but I can't really tell if I'm under attack. So please allow me to clarify myself, just to make sure I'm not grouped into the thread crapper and lowballer group.

- Yes, I am interested in acquiring a vz-tft7 monitor as an onboard monitor for my hvx for focusing/framing use with my Brevis.
- My initial inquiry about the post was because I monitor this board looking for said monitor, and all your previous posts included 4 batteries. When I saw the price was now $500, I almost pounced on it, but then noticed it was 2 batteries. I wasn't sure if it was a typo or what, so I posted a message. I posted because I thought others might have the same question.
- You clarified in your reply post that this was a smaller/cheaper package version, not a typo and this wasn't a drop in price post (as is common on this board). I felt your response though was also aggressive and specifically directed towards me personally. The all caps-lock words will do that. You also posed questions at me so...
- I replied as nice as possible saying "my bad, I misunderstood what you were doing, I can see how my previous post could be taken differently, but that wasn't my intention, it was just a normal honest question."

I've sold things online before, and I know the ridiculous low-ball offers you get. With your selling 7 things at once, I can only imagine the slew of PMs you got, and the annoyance and stress that it produced. It sucks and I'm sorry. But not everybody is out to get you.

Now that I've clarified my position. For the price and products that you are offering I am not interested in making a transaction. But I wish you all the best luck selling your gear, it's good stuff and the prices are within reason. If you want to continue any kind of discussion I welcome you to PM me.

Cheers,

Alex

My first response was very pointed and direct and for a reason. To remove all doubt about the price difference. I could beat around the bush, but I find it more useful to be as direct and clear as possible. I also am concerned very little for how others perceive me in such responses, and I'm sure it could possibly drive sales away. That is the buyers decision. If someone wants to miss out on a good deal because of personality conflict, that is their right.

As for the follow up response, I left it up to you guys to figure out what I meant.

Your original post asked:

If each battery costs $90 that seems a little off?

I think I was very clear in my answer. However, if you were only wondering about a typo, I wonder why you worded the question the way you did.

The rules are pretty clear for this forum. Your question seemed less of a buyers inquiry and more of a confrontation. Again, read your question above. That smells more of thread crapping than an interested buyer, and at the very least, it sounds like lowballing.

RC, on the other hand, has a bit of a crapping history.

No, it's static. I did notice a bit of shake too, though...

Yeah... what'r you talking about?

WoW... that was quick.
It could work, but I'd prefer the one with two handle's. Is it just the HVX, or do you have accessories? (35mm, firestore, lav, etc)

If it's just a stock HVX, I'd think this rig could handle it just fine.

-brown

p.s. I own the two handle one...

I think an israeli arm would do it. Might throw off the balance, though (depending on where/how you clamped it.)

WoW... only 32 hours on it. Can I ask why you're selling it after putting so much into it?

Ummm... yeah, how much you asking?

If this had a higher resolution, I'd be on it. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll do for 35mm adapter owners.

Good luck on the sale... and a free bump.

I think the rule is pretty clear:

--If you're not interested in the item(s) for sale please do not respond or reply in the post.

It's a pretty simple concept. These were only examples that I had seen since I had items for sale in the Marketplace. In RC's defense, though, I did find one Marketplace post where he was interested in buying something.

The rule is pretty clear. I'm just wondering if there are any bans or warnings for breaking rules around here. Just a "psssst.... read the rules" from the mods would be nice.

As for lowballing, I think this seller said it best:

This is my first experience selling something here (I've bought plenty) and I'm amazed how many people are out there with a $3K camera who want to haggle over five bucks. If you can't afford the shipping you can't afford to be in this business. The price is firm: $125 + $20 shipping. The rig is less than half price new, so don't bother asking for a better deal.
