Larger P2 Store??

in talking to some of the Panasonic reps at NAB it does not sound like there are plans in the near future for a larger P2 Store. As RE1000 said, the feeling is that there is no need for a larger unit with the card capacities increasing.
From the clients I talk to, there still seems to be a desire for a larger one....we shall see...

Too bad. Im still waiting for mine at Abel NYC. I think its VERY usefull.
If the made a 500 gig one, that would be AMAZING. Iamgine being able to capture hand held, all by yourslef, 8 hours of 1080p footage. assuming youre shooting 2 16 gigcards.
I can see EXACTLY where it will be valuable, isshot a Motivational speaker seminar yesterday. we shot on DV, but if they had wanted HD, it would have been nearly impossible in 1080 right now. We would up using 6-7 tapes, each(!), filled end to end.
HAd they wanted HD, i would have had to rent a XHa1, or a Z1, and shoot HDV. But then you run into the problme of the client needing your camera to capture all the tapes, they arent likely to rent a A1 for a day just to capture footage, where as with a P2store you can trandsfer the partitions to a harddirve on site, or mail them DL-DVD's with 8gig cards on each one. Also, if you have a PA, he can off load cards to external drives on the fly, or tradsfer the footage to HD-AVI's through Raylight into an easily editable format, on external Drives that the client keeps.
