Large emailed file needs to go on DVD

A friend emailed a video of his son playing football. Its a full game I believe or maybe its just the highlights at any rate what would be the process I need to do to get that video onto a DVD that he can watch in a DVD player? I didn't know if I had to bring it in FCP and then export it out as a QT file. Is FCP even needed? Could I go right to iDVD or DVDSP instead?

The DVD won't look pretty. It had to be heavily compressed in order to email, and I would imagine that the compression was more than for DVD. So you're going to have to move to a higher, yet still heavily compressed, codec for DVD. Just be prepared for a bounty of artifacts in the DVD.

What format/codec is the emailed video? Theoretically, you can convert straight to the files for DVD using Compressor.
