Lance Weiler DIY Marketing and Distribution

[rsbush]

Lance Weiler (The Last Broadcast, Head Trauma) gives a very interesting talk about DIY Marketing and Distribution. I don't think much is a "must see" but I think this is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCPEq2_8Lxg

Lance, Arin, myself and a few others are going to london in two weeks for this year's Power to the Pixel. Lance will be speaking at the conference about the From Here To Awesome project of which I F*CKING HATE YOU was chosen to represent. afterward, they'll be screening my film at the BFI. if you haven't heard of Lance Weiler yet, you owe it to yourself as an indie filmmaker to listen to what he has to say about the future of distribution. personally, he's given me a tremendous education.

Lance and Arin Crumley (Four Eyed Monsters) and M Dot Strange have started a series of north american conferences called DIY Days. you can watch them all here...

I was trying to find out if there would be any NYC DIY days. Seems like we should. Do you know any plans for them to have one here?

they actually already did it. the NYC format was a bit different -- a single roundtable discussion. i know more are planned for next year, and i'm sure NY will get hit again.

anyway, upcoming events will be listed at diydays.com when they are known.

also at that cinefist.com/theater link is a presentation by Tiffany Shlain who made a ton of dough off a 25 minute short called The Tribe. i definitely recommend watching that one. she shares some great info.

Yeah, I have been researching a lot into this stuff. Thanks for the info.
