Will a Varicam lack control for the new HXV?

anyone heard anything? I'll be needing some type of lanc for my new HVX next month

No LANC control possible. It does have provision for remote focus, iris, and zoom, but not through LANC. VariZoom will probably be making a controller, I'd guess Zoe and others will as well. It's compatible with DVX zoom controllers, but that'd be a bit of a waste as you'd be better off waiting for the full focus/iris/zoom controls.

It would be cool if Varizoom would make a new pistol grip servo-zoom unit for the HVX in black color or a color matching the HVX, rather than shiney aluminum. Their natural aluminum servo-zoom looked good with the VX2100, but a dark color for use with the HVX would preserve a more equipment-matched look, not to mention saving some of the "stealth mode" profile of the HVX for no-permit shooting situations...
