There's so much great work on this board, now I'm finally ready to share something!! :)

This is a video I directed/shot/edited for an indie rock artist named Marisa Lauren. I also produced and co-wrote the song.

I'll be showing this at LAFCPUG next Wednesday in all of its HVX generated HD glory!

Wow, I can't believe something that's only 30mb looks this good!! What compression settings did you use? The colors are amazing! The track is pretty tight too! The only thing I would mention is the first shot where she walks out into the night. It seems like you wanted to go for some kind of effect there, but it looks more like poorly lit video. Make it a little more dramatic if that's what you're going for. Overall great vid though!

Hey, also for the club lighting did you have your own lights in addtion to the stage lighting? Thanks!

Yea, we were going for the grainy 16mm look for the night exteriors... You can't really tell because of the compression, but there's a lot of nice grain in the master.

I used H.264 with a picture data rate at around 1.6Mb/s.

We had an additional 1K light and a tweenie to supplement the stage lights in the club... but the club already had an amazing rig for the stage.

Thanks for the kind words.

hey Ken looks damn good. Real good job on the editing also. Using allot of different shots really helps. Real good job on the lighting as well. Good work and the song is perty good.

Nice work Kenn. The only parts that bothered me was the low light outdoor stuff. I'd just go totally Black and white and pump up the contrast a bit.

Yeah that looked fantastic! the only small reservation i had was that some of the concert shots as well didnt seem to match, or maybe it was just my monitor..

Bob had a great idea about black and white for the exteriors.. and one shot in the club looked out of place.. kind of grainy and black. It's also so surprising and almost refreshing not to see an HVX video without slow-mo.

Very nice job. Thanks for showing!

AWESOME AWESOME hallway shot. Looked f--kin amazing.
The exteriors could use a lot more contrast and it would be good to go.

Very good video!
The first high key shots were amazing!
How did you light them? Just overall bounce and bright sunny day?
And how was focusing?
