For offloading my P2 Store to my Powerbook 12" i want to buy (cheap) Lacie Porsche 250gig Usb2 HD's. Do i need a Usb-hub? Is this a good idea? I heard Usb2 is not working very well with Apples... Who has experience with Usb2 Porsche Drives?

It may just be my personal experience, but I use to love Lacie before i got the 250gb Porsche. The first one didn't work, had to return.
And the one i got that replaced it, is unreliable. Some of the time FCP projects won't open. And it can't run for more than 20 minutes withou starting to get REALLY Hot!
I actually have to keep a small fan pointed at it to try and keep the whole unit cool when I need to use it for extende periods of time.

My experience is to stay away from usb2.0 completely. Im using the lacie big disk 250gb which has fw400/800 and usb2. In usb2 mode the drives are unbearably slow. go for the FW800 dries, you won't regret it.

I have the firewire version and mine hasn't failed me at all so far *knock on wood* That said... I have had a Lacie drive die on me before... the Porsche is quite nice in size.

I have two of their firewire drives and once they come out with the 500gig porsche firewire im gunna get one of those too! I have only praise for lacie drives.

Thanks for the replies.
I bought two Western Digital 3200 drive's. They're perfect , no problems and a cheap offload solution ( powerbook 12'' /P2 store and FCP 5.1.2.).

What would you recommend for archiving? (2 terabyte)
