Super quick test to see if this combo worked (apologies for poor quality video was a quickie!)

it always bugged me that with the 14-140 lens you would have to zoom to around 18mm to clear the sides of the LA7200 adapter being visible, i expected the 14mm pancake to be the same...

... to my surprise it wasn't!

the LA & 20mm pancake worked great yet focusing on anything within 1.5m was a no no.
the LA & 14mm pancake seems to be able to focus down to around 12inches from the subject!

i did this test at iso 640 f2.5 so its noisy and poorly lit yet shows no edges at 14mm.

anyways thought id share for anyone interested in ultra wide angle f2.5 anamorphic.

Also tried the 14mm with a Olympus x08 wide angle adapter

(14mm+wide angle adapter) looks good!

(14mm) looks like a tele!

14mm - 08x = ? (anyone know the equation/answer?)

Looks great! Where did you get the cool hand grip with the short rails?

Screenshot2011-03-01at221054.png

the rails were from my G-Cinema rig (gini rig) & the handle is just a mountain bike bar-end with a handlebar grip you can get from the cycle store, i added a piece of leather belt to pad out the rail diameter to match the bar-end inner diameter, once you tighten the allen bolt its really sturdy! no slippage or movement at all. (glad i didnt get a redrock handle!)

i also screw in additional rails on the back and attach a shoulder/chest support, ff fits too! its been working pretty well for me

I was really surprised to find the Century Optics anamorphic adapter (58mm version) works with the 14mm as well - and the Century Optics is small enough to screw right on the lens with a step up ring!

yep its defo nice having semi fast 14mm anamorphic

i wish id picked up the century optics adapter when i had the chance, when i tried a weighty wide angle adapter it felt nice and sturdy screwed on, the lighter century optics must feel really nice attached.

what a great set up for quick and easy anamorphic! i want one! may i ask have you tried the LA7200? ihow does it compare to the century optics?

I have not tried the LA7200, I missed a bunch on Ebay and when B&H Photo finally got the 7200 in stock I had already found the Century Optics 58mm at a good price.

i "think" they are both very similar in results yet wish i could get a century optics for the size, the LA is huge in comparison.

GF13 + 14mm pancake + century optics anamorphic = ooooooooooooooooo! killer compact setup, so quick & easy!

Temp tag, does the Century Optics work with the pancake 20mm?
focus moving barrel on the 20mm + century optics that u can screw right on the lens??

the century optics anamorphic lens you have linked above has a 37mm thread, both the 14mm & 20mm pancake lenses share a 46mm filter thread.

you will need a 37mm to 46mm step up ring to attach it.

just a side note...

when focusing on the 20mm pancake the front lens/filter thread actually moves in and out of the lens body so attaching anything too heavy may damage the lens.

on the 14mm pancake the focus mechanism is all internal so the filter thread is solid to the lens body, great for screwing on heavy attachments.

you may know this all already but thought id share it anyway

Does the Century Optics also work on the 14-140mm kit lens? And where does it start to vignette?

i've only used the LA7200 on the 14-140 and it vignettes from 14mm to 17mm, id say at 18mm its clear from any vignette, remember tho the 14-140 @ 18mm will be at fastest f4.3 or f4.4!

i would guess that the Century Optics Anamorphic would vignette more than the LA7200 because its much smaller.

i may be wrong but perhaps someone with hands on experience can shed some light

this was shot with the century optics 37mm version and the 20mm pancake with a gf1 using the 1920x810 anamorphic patch. The edges are blurry, but other than that the adapter works on the lens.

checked your vimeo, nice stuff

have you any experience using the Century Optics on the 14-140 kit lens?

I have not used the 14-140. I will be testing out the 37mm century optics on the 14-42. Hopefully this weekend.
