Kodak color seperation guide- substitute for Macbeth?

I was just wondering if a Kodak Q-13 color seperation guide and gray scale could be used as a lower cost alternative to a Macbeth color chart? I know it doesn't have as many colors, but I was just wondering if there is any use for it in the video and/or film world?

For it to be of use in film, the lab that is processing your test footage would need to know the densitometric values of each chip in order for them to use the values for process adjustments.

For a video application, it might be a good substitute.
