GH2 Kodak 32 gig class ten card produced errors

Blackout

Veteran
I was shooting a straight through play at about 60mbit and got my first ever error on the GH2 (hacked) on a Kodak class 10 32 gig card. The camera was making 4 gig files and the it just stopped recording and I quickly noticed it and hit record again (maybe missed 10 to 15 seconds) but
now 10 minutes of the play are gone to nowhere land. When I put the card into my Win 7 pc it wanted to scan and fix the corrupt card and I was terrified but I could not get any footage off without doing it.

Sticking with Transcend from now on and might finally spring for the sandisk extreme 64 gig.

In theory a Class 10 card should handle a 60 Mbits recording rate without problem, but the reality is often something different.

I had my first glitch with the SanDisk SDXC 64GB 95MB/sec card last weekend, and it appears to be related to using electronic lenses ( Lumix 14mm f/2.5 ) and HDMI synch issues with the SmallHD DP6 monitor that I borrowed. Switching to non-electronic lenses, disconnecting the external monitor, or using AC power with the external monitor instantly solved the glitch I was seeing. ( I was shooting with a 100 Mbits patch )

So if you are experiencing random card issues, try the following fixes:
- Shoot with non-electronic lenses
- Disconnect your external HDMI monitor
- Make sure your GH2 battery shows at least 2 bars ( the glitch also showed up when shooting with a close to dead GH2 battery )
