I had the great opportunity to DP a short titled Knoxville over the past two weeks which was a low budet project with a small crew that was shot in both Richmond, VA and Knoxville, TN. Had a great and wonderful time, the crew was awesome the actors brought really good characters to the table and best of all it was fun, which I believe is the whole point of what it is we do.
I had access to a very small grip trailer with just the essentials of grip equipment and a couple 1k moles, smaller fresnels, and a couple Divas. I had received my Scarlet just three days before I left for Knoxville and it was a trial by fire senario for the new girl. Have to say the camera was bullet proof, never held us up, and churned out images I never thought I could get out of the palm of my hand. Reviewing footage off a travel G-tech drive and a MacBook Pro in bed at the end of the day is just icing on the cake. I can't post any footage just yet, but I exported some stills from a couple scenes. These are pretty much straight out of the camera, not graded to indicate how the final film will look.
