Knee Stuck on AUTO ?? Help!

The knee is disabled when your gamma is set to CINE-D or CINE-V. Use any other gamma and the knee will become enabled.

Note -- it's not "stuck on auto" (meaning -- it's not actually working in automatic mode!) It's disabled from being chosen, because the knee is not in effect when using a CINE gamma. The knee is actually not working at all, there is no auto compensation happening, when using the CINE gammas.

Hmm.. so according to your post on your "most typical" settings - you have GAMMA set to Cine-D, and KNEE set to low. Based on what you just said I can't set the Gamma now - can you clarify? Thanks!

With that said, for most footage I normally run at:
MASTER PEDESTAL: -8
MATRIX: CINE
DETAIL LEVEL: -2
DETAIL CORING: +2
V DETAIL LEVEL: -1
V DETAIL FREQ: THIN
GAMMA: CINE-D
KNEE: LOW
CHROMA LEVEL: +2
CHROMA PHASE: 0
COLOR TEMP: 0 or -1
SKIN TONE DTL: OFF
PROGRESSIVE: 24PA

The knee is only settable when the gamma is something other than cine-like. When using the cine gammas, the knee is disabled. It doesn't matter what the menu item says, it's disabled. If you've set the gamma to cine-d or cine-v, then the knee menu item will be grayed out, and whether it says auto or low or mid or high, it doesn't matter -- because there is *no* knee at that point.

Knee is only active when you choose a different gamma other than a cine gamma.
