I think he's using a rod too.

In addition, the way is right foot is positioned on the ground, the angle with the heal rasied due to wearing cowboy boots looks very uncomfortable thing and would be an unnatural thing to do, imo.

The lower leg muscles would be stretching to the point it might even become painful after a short period of time so I suspect he may also have an artificial right leg as well in addition to a rod/platform.
