Kit lens IS

This is for anyone using the kit lens. I've used it quite a bit and have kept the image stabilization setting
on "standard" for handheld work. Anyone use the "active" setting? Pros, cons for handheld? Thanks!

I use Active a lot in R&G situations, especially when holding the camera upside-down overhead using the supplied mic/handle combo. Yes, it means holding it like a hair dryer, yes you have to flip it in post, but it works!

Usually, if I need to switch on IS, i NEED it, therefore the Active works well for me. A bit like the Z1's fabled 'Hard' setting. It's good to have a choice of settings and it's even better to make it easy to toggle between them if you, say, assign the IS function to the Histogram button (which I'd leave on FWIW). That way, you can toggle it on/on-hard/off upon your whim.
