Kirkwood Powder Grabs

Brought out the camera for a few snowboarding shots up at Kirkwood near Lake Tahoe. These are from playing around with 24pa and default shutter speed.

I too am impressed that you kept the sky blue. Actually, none of it looks overexposed. I hear shooting in snow is REAL tricky. You make it look easy. Good stuff!

Re: Kirkwood Powder Grabs

Ronik - No polarizer for these shots. Used one for some later shots though.

All - Thanks for the comments. I was also snowboarding. I pack/carry my camera in a Lowepro CompuTrekker. It's compact enough that I can still have fun on the board. And it comes with a rain cover which I used to keep the snow off. But, on Sunday, I ditched the camera and focused on as much powder time for myself as possible. Oh, and no worries about pegging a tree with the camera! :D

Re: Kirkwood Powder Grabs

I shot a lot of snowboard stuff but never in the powder because there is no powder here. I'd like to shoot in the backcountry!

Re: Kirkwood Powder Grabs

Nice. I was up at Kirkwood last weekend, too, but if I brought the camera up the mountain, there is a 100% chance I would have fallen on it.

thanks for showing the grabs

Yeah, that's why I only filmed on Saturday. Didn't want to sacrifice my camera to the trees on Sunday! :D
