Kipon EOS to m4/3 mount issues w/Tamron 17-50VC.

Picked up a used Kipon EOS to m4/3 so I could try using my Tamron 17-50VC with it for a run and gun zoom on occasion. The Kipon mounts to the AF100 ok but I cannot get my lens to lock onto the Kipon.

It goes on and turns 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch but will not lock into place. Am I doing something wrong or did I get a bad adapter or is this lens not compatible somehow?

Thanks.

Update: I tried it with my Olympus to EOS adapter and that goes on and locks just fine. Is the Tamron not an EOS mount?

I thought any lens that could mount natively and talk to the camera was EOS. Somebody has to know the answer to this one...

Tamron makes various mounts, one being EOS.

What's an Olympus>EOS adapter? Do you mean EOS>m4/3 dumb adapter?

Lastly, don't be surprised if the Kippon doesn't work well with any zoom. I found it useless on my L zooms.

The Olympus is OM>EOS and is a dumb adapter. I use it to mount an old Olympus prime to my 60D. It attaches just fine to the Kipon...but my usual walk-around Tamron 17-50VC that I natively mount to the 60D will not attach. No one seems to know exactly why.

I think I'll sell the Kipon on eBay and just keep using the Novoflex. I like it a lot better and I typically buy Nikon mount lenses so I can switch back and forth between 60D and the AF100 easily.

I got a hold of the kipon adapter and all honestly it did not mount well with some of my Canon Eos lenses. Furthermore it did not work well with my Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens which is why I decided against using lenses with this adapter. A simple Canon to m/43 works better but you need lenses with a physical aperture ring. As of now I will only be buying lenses with physical aperture rings or native micro 4/3 lenses.

Yes, for whatever reason it won't mount to this lens. I have a Novoflex Nikon>M4/3 which is perfect to use with my Nikon manual primes. It would be nice if I could get all these in Canon mount but for now it's easier to get them in Nikon mount, control the iris manually and swap them between my 60D and AF100. I'll sell the Kipon adapter today.
