Kinotehnik Viewfinder for EVA-1

Kinotehnik hooked me up with an "LCDVF BM" for my EVA and it's instantly made my life easier. The extra point of contact with my eye makes the camera more stabile for handheld shots and I can see my shots in sunlight again. Recommend for anyone that can't spend the extra $500 on the Z-Finder or extra monitor. When shooting 4k you lose about a millimeter on each side, which I'm ok with sacrificing.

Are you at all concerned about adding extra weight/torque on the viewfinder mount?

The lcd doesn't even seem to flinch with the viewfinder attached, my main concern was putting the adhesive frame on the LCD. But, in the past using a similar system on Canon Dslr's I was able to get the adhesive completely removed, let's hope that is the case with the EVA.

Just the magnetic frame...EVF snaps onto it. Those were crazy popular for T2is/5Ds back in the day.

Hi,

after fumbling with the older Z-Finder for the Blackmagic Pocket 3,5" LCD for a week I have to say Mitch was absolutely right.
At the time being, the Zacuto Z-Finder for the EVA1 seems to be the only loupe that fits 100%.

Did anybody already try that loupe and can report how well it integrates with the EVA1?

I understood that you can use the Z-Finder with the EVA's own EVF mount or use Zacutos top plate and additional sturdier mount.
I want to use the original mount first to keep the footsteps of the camera as small and light as possible...

I checked all the possibilities for upgrading the LCD.
Buying another one makes the camera bigger and heavier and introduces more cabling.
All the other loupes on the market do not really fit.

I have another gig by the end of february where I need to have a better experience pulling focus and framing under changing circumstances incl. sun, rain etc. etc.

Any recommendation and experience is welcome!
