Ki-Pro & AF100 how to record using camera button?

I have rented a Ki-Pro for an upcoming shoot and all testing has gone well. The unit is pretty straightforward. One thing I can't seem to work out is how to record to the Ki-Pro by hitting the cameras record button versus the record button on the Ki-Pro. I have SD cards in camera, Ki-Pro is hooked up via SDI. I read the instructions concerning the "arm record" but can't get it to work...

Please contact AJA Technical Support via phone or email for assistance configuring your camera and Ki Pro combination. The camera must be outputting embedded timecode in record run for the Arm Recording feature to operate. It's possible that the camera isn't currently configured to output ancillary data, only video.

Got it Jon Thanks. Tony over at AJA was very helpful. By default I keep my camera in Free Run, that was the issue.
