How do you activate the exposure compensation for the back dial?

I've got it in Tv with manual lenses.

Make sure the * AE-lock is activated, the metering timer is set to 30 minutes and your in stills+movie mode. Then just push the * button and twist that dial away!

A little tip I'll throw out there. The picture styles do affect the look of the 5D's video image. That contrasty 5D look you see everywhere is people shooting with the default style. You turn it on and start shooting video and this is what you'll get.

Now you can get really into it and use the Canon picture style editor program to create your own profiles. But Canon provides several in camera profiles and additionally they all have several parameters you can adjust. I like to shoot with the Neutral profile and I then turn the sharpness and contrast down. This produces a look that is much more. . . well. . . neutral. Either way you can create your own look and you aren't stuck with the vivid contrasty standard 5D look if you prefer something else.

That's the first thing I do with any camera. Never shoot with stock settings.

"Kholi needs help!" you got that part right. You're not flip-flopping are you Kholi?

I'm feeling more MKII inclined today

I personally have no idea which way is up anymore so the only option is to have one of each... I think ...atm ... maybe...

I have both man. I didnt flip or flop anything

I did what I said I'd do if the camera got manual controls: buy one. Just buy something and move to the next phase.

hehe, which one?

no 24p and the D300s are the only things stopping me from getting the MKII. Waiting for your graded footage is the only thing stopping me from getting a GH1. The mjpeg on the K-7 is looking really good too, the question remains whether they will update the firmware with 24p and manual control when it ships.

I might just grab a D5000 for a couple of months until the dust settles.
