Kevin Spacey's lecture on the future of the industry

A fantastic speech.

Favorite quote, regarding the release of House of Cards via Netflix and putting out the entire season at once:

"...we have demonstrated that we've learned what the music industry didn't -- give people what they want, when they want it, in the form they want it in, at a reasonable price, and they'll more likely pay for it rather than steal it."

He's an amazing public speaker, and interestingly enough, a speech writer too. Must be something going on behind those eyeballs.

The audio on this is atrocious. I found the best way to listen was on headphones, using just the left side. I put the right side ear cup on the top of my head, which was much more comfortable than it sounds. It might have looked funny (if anyone had seen it), but it made it much easier to hear without the reflection from the right side. I'm offering this solution because having to listen to 45 minutes of that echo might stop people from hearing a very interesting and well thought out speech about our industry.
