Kessler Pocket Jib™ Prototype Demo (and more)

Kessler Crane
If you're not following us on Twitter yet, you probably missed the announcement of the new video we posted on YouTube showing the demo of our new Pocket Jib™ prototype, as well as an update on the Pocket Dolly™ (which should be available very soon). We also included some footage from the camera on the Pocket Dolly™, granted, it's just of some cardboard boxes in the shop.

Look forward to your feedback & input.

If you want to stay up to date with what is going on with Kessler Crane™, and get the inside scoop on projects we have in the works, be sure to follow us on Twitter. Who knows, maybe we'll even have some contests for our Twitter followers. It's a great medium for you to give us feedback, because constructive input on how we can make our products better, is always appreciated. You all are the ones in the field using this equipment everyday, who knows what you need better that YOU!

Thanks!
Chris

$450 - $500 for the Pocket Dolly™ (slider). Don't have a price set for the Jib yet, until we can determine the final manufacturing costs.

Chris,

Very cool! We're a big fan of your engineering (Kessler Crane).

Is there any stutter with the pocket dolly at any speed?

Thanks,

Robert

Chris, do you think the slider can hold a full 15-20 lb rig on either end without requiring additional stands? The need for supporting stands on a slider has always negated the ability to move around and set up quickly and it would be a very attractive feature if all you need is a tripod.

Chris,

You have my interest. Looking forward to a price-point. Looks like a nice and small rig for interiors and quick to setup and breakdown.

Wow! I'm impressed Chris, first the Pocket Dolly, then this compact jib design pops right when I'm looking for one! It seems like a great piece of hardware, nicely designed. I love the folding handles and the idea that I could store this in a small car without taking up all the space! Oh, and combining both a slider and a mini jib into one nice setup? Just brilliant!

Keep up the good work and designs, man! I'll definitely be looking to get my hands on both jib and pocket dolly as soon as they're available!

Oh, and please, do keep us informed here on DVXuser for those like me who're not fans of Twitter and would like to be in the know :-)

Not that we have noticed with the prototype, but we plan on putting together more sample footage from the camera, once the production model parts are in.

If used in our recommended configuration, with the Hercules 2.0 head and our K-Pod, that should be no problem. Using with other configurations that don't offer the same support, you may still need an additional stand or monopod.

We love the DVXuser community, so we'll still keep everyone informed. I just don't want to spam the forums with the "play by play" updates of what is going on. That's what we'll use the Twitter and Facebook pages for.

Chris, Ive been looking for something very portable and multi purpose for use with the HPX500. Would be good to see some tests with a larger shoulder mount cam on there.

I am very interested in the pocket jib/slider

Hello There

I am very interested in your new jib/slider combo. When will it be available? Are you shipping international ( Singapore )? The cost?

Cheers
Damien

Still working out the total manufacturing costs, but we are targeting somewhere around the $900 price point for the Pocket Jib™.

We will also have a package price for both the Pocket Dolly™ and Pocket Jib™ together.

Yes, we ship international, Damien. Thanks

Any idea on what the weight of each will be? Might be nice to have these up in Yellowstone in some remote areas. There's some great waterfalls and petrified forests up there that would be cool to use them on. Or some Anasazi ruins in Southern Utah

Trade footage for the gear? :) Hey, never hurts to ask. :)

Yes, can you please mention the approximate weight for both? Looking at a tripod right now. Thanks!

This is amazing. I love how you can combine both the dolly and jib in such a small package! I will definitely buy this when it comes out.
