Kellogg's Commercial (Comedy Sketch)

Very Funny stuff. Loved it!!!

I am considering buying a DVX100 and have been very impressed by all the footage i've seen so far. I want to make an action movie.

One thing that concerns me was all the trails i saw in this clip whenever you guys were moving your arms around fast.

Is that a problem inherent to the DVX?

More likely a compression issue. Never had any type of trails in any of my footage with the exception of the odd bit of 24p strobing while trying to pan too fast.

DVX is a great camera for videos

good to know.

Actualy though, I am planning one shot that pans rean fast in a jerking motion.

In the scene the guy is having his head chopped off from a 1st person perspective and I wanted to jerk the caerma to the left real fast and show a blood splatter on the wall from a blood shooter I built (the indy mogul project)

Any advice on getting that shot? Could I maybe jerk it at half speed then delete every other frame in post? Or if I move the camera real fast will I avoid this issue altogether.

Now that I think about it this 1st person shot is real dangerous to begin with at full speed (dangerous for me being the camera man) So shooting half speed and removing every other frame, what kind of an affect does that have on the video? Anyone ever tried that?

Don't mean to jack this thread.......but in response to skullkrusher101,

I have never pulled frames out of footage but I think it would ad a slight jerk or stutter, (that may or may not be very noticeable). Depending on how long the pan is going to be, (from what you described it doesnt sound like it will be long), you may just get away with a fairly quick pan without strobing. Test it out and see if you have any strobing on short quick pans. If you are getting strobing, try it in 30p and see what happens. If all else fails you can go as fast as you like in 60i.

By the way, LMAO when the strawberry started getting up slowly behind the counter and was making that screaching sound.
