FAQ keep monitor on the hot/cold shoe?

I had a small monitor fall off the cold shoe of my A7siii yesterday and I realize that this has threatened to happen many many times in the past no matter what kind of device I use to attach the monitor as long as its attached via the shoe. Every device simply loosens up and then the monitor or whatever comes flying off. The best i've ever come up with is wrapping some gaffers tape around the shoe and that doesn't work well at all. Has anyone come up with a locking device or a trick that works?
BTW this should not be marked as FAQ

Cameras with dedicated threads are used with swivels that bolt into them...or mini cheeseplates where the swivels bolt into them.

But because your only option on your camera is a shoe, you may just need a better shoe swivel (if you're not going to use a cage).

Which ones do you currently use?

Another option is using rails and an adapter for a swivel with a thread (or just straight into the monitor if you don't need much swiveling).

Very solid but obviously adds more bulk.

Actually I do have a cage and will go that route in the future. I find the shoe pretty convenient though and it always feels secure at first - before it suddenly falls off later. This time someone else was watching the camera who wasn't cued to watch out and now I pay the price for being lax. Its a small HD 5" focus and the front screen assembly popped off but I was able to pop it back on it and it still works. Unfortunately at least so far the touch screen is incapacitated and that pretty much makes it worthless.
