Hey Friends,

Quick update- Cinegrips are moving out the door now. One that fires an F3 is on a Cisco systems shoot for DP Chris Baldwin in San Fran. Another Prototype has been on the new Katheryin Bigelow (Hurt Locker) feature shooting in Jordan and UK. past several weeks. This one is firing an Alexa for shooter Duraid Munajim. I'll hopefully be posting photos- if anyone ever sends me one!

I have 12 ready to go in 4-6 weeks and some will be going out inside of 4 weeks. I just want to be safe with estimate to save my hide later.

New e-commerce site is linked below. It's NEW and secure. All major cards or Paypal. It's still pretty empty and echo-ee. Gimme a hand and comment me up in the news section -yeah? There is a "dear john" letter there to the Aaton grip for you to read.

I'm pretty excited. My professionalism is in doubt again because I feel like a kid saying "go to my site, go to my site" not a pro introducing a new camera accessory.

Go NOW!!!!!! GO GO GO!!!!

Here are some pictures of serial #01. This was sold for use with an F3. The owner had a shoot date so we rushed one out with an early bracket and have brought it up to production spec now. This is a CineGrip what we are shipping for F3, ALEXA and RED. The SmartGrips are the coded brain version required by Sony's use of LANC for FS series and CCN for their F65/F3 Pro series. These are complex data streams we had to reverse engineer. The bonus is that with SmartGrips you get an AUX port and some essential menu activations. We can put the entire camera menu structure on the grip but have decided not to. It makes the grip complex when it should be simple. We're putting three ASSIGN functions on it so you can assign the three things you find most useful (plus display and expanded focus) Trying to work gain/iso in. It's going to have a trigger and 3-4 buttons. The trick is making it simple. Keeping it clean but also giving it the function you really need. Anyway here are some shots. These are not final product shots - but I wanted to get something posted. I had to use a kickstand to make it stand up - ignore that part!

Such lovely craftsmanship!

It's just so nice that a camera rig could actually involve the use of wood. I'm so happy there is still a place for wood in the camera world.

The aluminum rosette bracket comes with the grips but the additional rosettes between the two angled pieces are an upgrade. You can order with or w/o . (You can install them easily yourself if you decide to add them later.)

The bracket that fits over your 15mm front rods is a separate item and we have changed it so that the rosettes on either side now attach under the bracket and can be user positioned in several positions laterally. A friend shooting with one of our grips on an FS700 last month suggested this mod because it gets your hand under the camera which is more comfortable with the FS700 design. We also make a kickstand that is adjustable so you can put the camera down w/o it tipping over.

Right on Matt, Wood is sort of a tradition in the camera dept going way back. Traditionally cinematographers like wood because it doesn't sting the hand by transmitting either intense cold or heat. It's also kinda friendly with all the plastic and metal around - and with the cool swirly grain patterns of walnut- pretty darn handsome too!

That's pretty awesome, looks nice.

This is close to what the final bracket will look like for a SmartGrip (not pictured. too hard too draw the contours). The green wafer is the brain, which connects via a snap on socket (like RAM) so that every year -cause thats what it is now- you can snap in a new brain to control your new cam and keep your grip and hardware unchanged.

The 15mm rod mount is a separate piece slated for $295. The bracket connecting to it comes with every CineGrip as standard equipment. It is shown here with
two extra rosettes to create a dual axis rotation - these are a 145 upgrade to any grip.

the two new holes are for a custom user installed switch and socket- we cant think of everything- but are having a good week anyway!

Thanks to Joe O for some sweet Solidwork work here! Caleb
