KATE, a musical entry for the NYMMM04

Re: KATE, a musical entry for the NYMMM04

I usually dont like musicals but this brought a chuckle out of me a few times, like at the end: "Here I am in the big house, so look out... YOU BITCHES" hahah

Re: KATE, a musical entry for the NYMMM04

That was great!! God errrr Good job. That was very funny. Loved the dancing jogger.
Very nice work.

Re: KATE, a musical entry for the NYMMM04

dude the jogger was hilarious! that was an awesome short, the editing fit seemlessly into the musical, the lighting was just right! i do suggest cutting down on the out-of-place curse words, they're funny, but you have to learn when and where to use them. loved the chicago scenery (lemonade stand) i usually walk through there when going to a show at the metro, near wrigley ville, only about 2 miles from where that scene was. loved it! keep it coming!

Re: KATE, a musical entry for the NYMMM04

Very funny and well put together. I really enjoyed it...man, I'm still smiling :D

Re: KATE, a musical entry for the NYMMM04

Good job. if that was made in 2 weeks, great work. keep it up.

Re: KATE, a musical entry for the NYMMM04

Thanks a lot for your comments. This was truely a team effort and on top of it we couldn't do anything until the music was ready and that didn't happen until Wednesday night (Carlo and the guys at Razorhead only had two days to work on it, because the script wasn't ready until late Monday, not to mention that those guys are in NYC and we are in Chicago). We shot Thursday morning, back to our regular jobs, then Thursday night, Friday early morning and finished shooting the Church Friday late afternoon. Steve started editing at around 5:30 and finished at around 10:30 pm. The whole thing was ready by 12:30 am Saturday. We really didn't think we could pull it off, but we did at the end of the day.
Thanks again.

Eco :)

Re: KATE, a musical entry for the NYMMM04

That would be a great victory for us DVXrs and a good party. Did you guys compete last year? I think the work this year is far superior than what I saw last year so far.
Good luck to you guys as well. Job well done, now the agony of waiting until Sept. 12.
Anyway, Marluco and TV Director, let's cross our fingers.

Re: KATE, a musical entry for the NYMMM04

eco,

Did the actress sing the tracks or was she miming to someone elses voice?

Re: KATE, a musical entry for the NYMMM04

She was lip-sincing, all the music was done before the shoot. We had a boombox on the set, but she is soooo good that she memorized it and sang along, the more we shot the better it got.
Another thing is that we had a blast doing this even though it was incredibly hard. All the actors did great, Steve on top of it did a great job as well and Bruce (formerly Supermandilon) is gotta be one of the best joggers around.

Everyone did great.

Re: KATE, a musical entry for the NYMMM04

That would rock - -and no we did not compete last year - I found out about this compitition the tuesday before it started.

Re: KATE, a musical entry for the NYMMM04

Great job -- that was fun, I enjoyed it a lot. ;D

Good luck on the 12th.

Re: KATE, a musical entry for the NYMMM04

Awesome short. The writing is strong (the rhymes during the jogger stick up reminded me a little of Beastie Boys "Paul Revere") and it looks great.

Re: KATE, a musical entry for the NYMMM04

Haha, nice job. Although your actors were lip-synching, they (and you) did a good job keeping off of my mind. You should definitely congratulate the folks who did your music, because it really rounded out the piece, too.

Best of luck in the competition!
