Kata CG-12 Camera Glove for HPX500

Hi guys

I've just purchased a HPX500 and of course I would like to protect it from the daily ENG-wear-and-tear.

After some looking around for a suitable product I found the KATA CG-12. The price is right and it looks to be able to do the job.

However I would like to know if anyone in here have tried it and what you think of it and should I be looking at some other products (The price is not crucial, but would of course like to save some money if possible) :thumbsup:

Furthermore I have one important question: The pictures of the CG-12 on the web doesn't show an opening for easy access to P2 cards - is that the case and if it is will it be a problem?

Thanks I'll take a look at it :) I've had some different experiences with PortaBrace - over all it is good quality. When it fits the camera it works smoothly, but I've also tried one that didn't fit and I had to remove it so I'm looking for something that does not inhibit any functions (or as few functions as possible) ;) But you didn't have any problems with your 371?
 
Know what you mean about them fitting, I had one for my sony S270 and it was not very good at all, the 371 isn't perfect but is better and at least came with a rain cover too.
 
The CG-12 should be fitted with a rain cover as well, but I'm still concerned about the access to P2 cards - anyone? :)
 
The access to the cards is ok...

But imo it fits quite ok, but not perfekt though...

I have CG-12 on my HPX500. P2 "window" is OK, you can easy take off the cards. But there is another bad thing: it is not easy opening to access PC/Cam or MCR mode button. CG-12 does not fit it! "Zip" is to high and when you open mode doors one hand the second hand keeps doors. But now after 2 years of work on HPX500 and CG-12 it does not nerves me at all...

First of all tkanks for your replies. I ended up buying the CG-12 and as you told me it fits the camera fine, but as East said the mode button is a bit difficult to reach. Anyways its the price you have to pay for good protection of the camera. So far I'm pleased with it :)

Another good thing is an elastic body of CG12. I use Porta Brace Glove for PDV-530 - great stuff but it is very "hard" piece of material. CG12 is much more better in this area.
