Yeah, saw it. Well, I actually fast-forwarded though most of it.
The film has some great landscape shots, but lacks heavily in almost all other areas. The character design and animation seem pretty outdated by today's standards. It looked substandard enough to be distracting IMHO.
The story is pretty cliché-- primitive civilisation forgets high technology past, courageous heroine who rebels against the "high priest" and the "old beliefs", and a prophecy. Pretty standard stuff for the genre, and it's not really executed in any remarkable way.
The film appears to be a french production, dubbed in english. Perhaps it's because I hate dubbed films of any kind, but I couldn't really dig it. This was the first time in a long time that I found myself hitting the next chapter button on my remote again and again trying to find something of substance. I didn't.

This comes nowhere near Final Fantasy. The back of the box shows some nice stills and convinced me that it might be a contender. No such luck.
The quality of the animation (or rather lack thereof) really makes it seem as if it was made 5+ years ago, but the landscapes updated to more current standards.
