JVC settings to look like DVX?

I just ordered the JVC camera and was wondering if anybody has come up with camera settings to emulate the look of the DVX cine gamma settings? I'm shooting a movie using the DVX and thought I could use the JVC as a replacement. Long story short, I got the DVX too close to a light and melted the zoom control buttons on the top handle and on the side. Yeah, I'm an idiot.
 
Thanks. I'm pretty damn excited about it. I'm new to this whole HDV/HD side of things, I'm sure I'll be harassing you guys in the next couple of weeks.
