JVC Production Monitor - critiques?

gonna add the IF-C01COMG Component card for production work and that will come to around $1120 w/ ship. Not bad I think for a 17" w/ 750 lines and component out.

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with JVC production/broadcast/field monitors, as i've heard mixed reviews. Most people seem to say JVC is solid, but i've heard some relatively nasty reviews as well, so its enough for me to ask.

Also, Sony has the exact same monitor for sale - but 600 lines rather than 750 - yet they charge $500 more. Am I missing something obvious here?

Unlike my oppinon of most of JVC's products, they make very good monitors. (And they also make the CRTs for a few other brand's monitors)

Then again, $ony is used in studios world wide for a reason.
