JVC Mini DV tapes a problem?

Will running JVC mini DV tapes through the DVX100B affect the camera? How about if I used these tapes over an extended period of time?

I'm trying to load some footage from a few JVC tapes that my friend used onto my computer through my DVX100B but I was worried that it may harm my camera so I would rather ask first haha.

no it wont...well what do you use on the camera normally?

Generally speaking only sony gives "issues" if ur used to using another brand. Sony is wet lube the rest are dry lube. So stick to sony alone. Or just stick to other brands cuz all the dry lubes play well together. Dont mix sony with the rest.
 
I have a box of HUNDREDS of JVC mini-DV tapes that I've run through my DVX. It's seven years old. It's just fine.
