JVC HD200 to HPX500?

My first post....
I am considering going from a JVC HD200 to an HPX500. Has anyone on this board made this switch?
I like the rebate offer, it seems like the best time to buy the 500. I already work with 2/3" gear, so I will have access to Canon lenses (SD, but good ones), tripods, batteries, etc. I even have an HVX200a, so I already have P2 cards.
So, has anyone been able to compare the JVC and Panny cameras? What do you recommend? I like the larger form of the 500. I've spend decades in broadcast, so I like the 2/3" size.
Also, as far as the rebate, is it good as long as you purchase the camera on or before Sep. 30th? Do you actually have to mail in the rebate by the 30th, or does a bill of sales showing the purchase date satisfy the rebate offer? In other words, if I secure a camera by credit card on the 30th, is it good for the rebate?
Thanks, and great forum. It's answered many of my questions about the 500.

I went from JVC-HD110's to the 500's, can't find one reason that I wish I still had the JVC Cams. The Panasonics are the way to go, hands down, for two dozen different reasons. Depth of Field, Image Quality, Form Factor, Sensitivety, Codec, Full 2/3's, The Look, and so much more. Not that I didn't like the JVC's, but as a professional, you need to have professional tools.

Vanvideo - JVC has its own patent 35mm lens relay that also has 0 light loss. I guess it depends what you shoot for bread and butter.
