BIRDEMIC 2: THE RESURRECTION.

It's here. I don't know why, but it's here.

Okay, I do know why. The last one got a distribution deal. It's on the shelves at Best Buy, even here in Knoxville.

But... wow.

Best quote from the included reviews: "Who needs talent when you have this much passion?"

Strangely, I was much more entertained by the first Birdemic movie than I was by Avatar. I'm not saying one is a better film than the other, but there's something to be said for any film that makes me laugh so much I cried. That may not have been the filmmaker's intent, of course. :D

He may not make the world's best films, but he is a very, very nice guy, as I found out when I interviewed him a few years ago…

Honest and humble.

Wait until the big boys give him a 100 mil budget with full CGI, famous actors and ruin the whole thing like they tried with Godzilla. haha.

Good for him.

It's refreshing for what it is. It's likeable. :)

I had to put this together.

imo, the original Godzilla was very likeable. Although violent, he did things for the right reasons and in the end the Japanese were protected again worse evil foes.

The newer version had no personality other than to destroy.
Just my opinion.

I can see why Birdemic can be popular even with crappy CGI. I can't explain it but I'm on board as well.

I wouldn't even dignify those special effects by calling them CGI. They're more like animated GIF's.

Don't get me wrong: I was entertained by he first one, much like Stephen. I laughed SO hard because it was SO bad. Just not sure what to do with a sequel. It looks like he's using a better camera with marginally-improved (relatively speaking) CGI (rather, as Batutta says, GIFs), but the technical quality and acting and directing are obviously just on par with his earlier efforts.

Who knows? Perhaps this will be as entertainingly terrible as the first, but trying to follow up something that becomes a cult hit rarely comes out well. I mean... anyone ever see Shock Treatment?

No. And I've never seen the sequel to The Blair Witch project. Still, I'll wait and see.

Shock Teatment is the sequel to Rocky Horror Picture Show. You aren't missing much.

I don't suppose you've seen the XXX parody of RHPS... titled "Rocki Whore Picture Show"(2010)...

But back to 'so bad it's good'... John Waters' early films like, "Pink Flamingos"(1972) and "Female Trouble"(1974), struck me as in that category. But I do believe John Waters improved with each film... but then perhaps I'm prejudiced...
