F3: Just when I found the F3's sweet spot Im Selling it.

Hello Grug,

Nahhh, mostly personal reasons.

I have a lot of equipment (Camera and accessories, office furniture, Props, lights, etc.) plus my personal stuff and I want to move to a more production friendly state. Im even considering working for a larger production company so I could concentrate on doing what I love to do and let someone else deal with the business grind.

Rant, rant, rant,,,... ;-)

I want to move to a more production friendly state.

I'm curious as to what you think is a more "production friendly" state. I can tell you that LA has opportunies, but a lot of competition, regulations, taxes, permits and isn't as friendly. I avoid some of that by shooting more in Orange County. In downtown LA as soon as you set up a tripod and camera it seems as though someone is bugging you about permits, notices, unions, etc. In O.C. I've never been asked for a permit, ever. In LA people pay for locations. In O.C. and FL people volunteer their places.

In FL it always seemed that people were curious about the camera and would volunteer to help (except Miami, but my place is on the west coast of FL.) Compared to CA, FL has no state income tax, less gas tax, less permits, lots less traffic, cheaper rent, cheaper food, etc.

I can't imagine you moving to Omaha, NE, or Flagstaff, AZ.

If LA was in the east coast I would be answering you from there. I've lived in CT and even though they have state tax you keep more money at the end of the day.
My problem is Miami's fluctuating economy and I don't have the things that brought me back holding me back anymore.

Been here in FLA moe than a decade and when I left CT in the mid 90's I thought "no state tax, no this or that tax...yeah"...but reality slapped me in the face. The wages here do not compare.
