FS7: Just updated my Shogun, Do I need the Extension Unit to run 2k 120fps on my Shogun?

I'll test it out tomorrow and hopefully I don't need it. I am guessing I do though

Yeah, I think the FS7 can only output that via the raw output. (That's the case of the FS5 and FS700).
You'll also get 240 frames though. The FS7 gets really expensive if you need the extension unit and external recorder... and in the end, the image is not that much different than from a FS700...

Mind, I have never used an FS7 so could be wrong. But I think that's the way it is.

Yea, I do need the extension or I also read that Convergent offers an upgrade for $995 for the FS7, then I think I would be able to use my Atomos Shogun.

The Convergent Design upgrade is a RAW upgrade for all supported RAW formats, not just FS7. And you need the XDCA-FS7 extension back for 2K

The Convergent Design upgrade is just if you want to record the raw signal on the Odyssey7Q. On the Shogun that capability is included in the price... so you need the extension back for the FS7 regardless if you use the Shogun or Odyssey7Q...
