Just some random grabs

Hey guys. I've had my DVX for a couple weeks now and just went around my back and front yard yesterday shooting some random stuff. I've been having a hell of a time trying to upload videos (which by the way, if anyone can help me out with that, let me know) so I decided to just throw up some stills. These are all straight off the camera, no color correction. I tried to white balance every chance I got, however. Anyway, enough talk, here are the stills.

Personally I like how the windchime turned out, especially on video. Let me know if you have any questions!

Well thats just dandy. Photobucket took my 720x480 and auto cropped them down to a terribly small res... uploading is really not working for me tonight... I'll try them at stickypod and see if they work better there...

EDIT: Ok, stickypod = better.

I like the first one, nice DOF.

The others are okay, just not particularly dramatic. The interlacing in the 4th one hurts my eyes. :)

Yeah, I didn't even really notice that until you pointed it out now. Ah well. I was hoping to post videos but unfortunetly this is the best I can get up right now. Whenever I try to upload videos it just sits there and seems to not be doing anything for long periods of time, so I usually give up. I know it takes time, but I've left it for an hour before to upload a 15 mb file with no results... is that normal? I have a DSL connection but I'm definetly not much of a web guy.

no more flowers.... no mas no mas!

sorry man, its jus that everyone who gets a DVX goes aout and post grabs of flowers..... its getting to be like the botanical gardens in here.....

The grabs are nice though.

especially that diffusion on the first one.

Haha, sorry man, just was itching to go shoot something and the flowers were by far the closest and most interesting thing surrounding my house. :P

I appreciate the grabs. very helpful to those doing camera research. keep em comin. But the only problem is that everyone always takes "close ups" cause they look the best. Actually even crappy camera's take good close ups. I would love to see some more that are not close ups but various ranges. that is how you really separate the good from bad cams imo.
congrats on your new cam, I envy you

Thanks! I actually had a few long distance shots that were in the video I compiled, but these just happened to be the ones I threw up. Tomorrow I have the day off (rare!) and I'm gonna go to the local beach/port and try to get some stuff from over there, perhaps even experiment with the time lapse a bit. I will post any new shots in here if I get some good ones.

Also, like I asked, can anyone help me out with uploading videos? I feel like it's taking far longer to upload than it should, and my computer shows no progress bar or anything to let me know if the transfer is at least working. Any recommended upload sites? Right now I'm using stickypod since it was mentioned in the sticky at the top of the page. Thanks for any tips/help!

~Bryant
