it was cool to see all the viewpoints on this subject, but ya, as it was stated above, most people wont be able to tell the difference between the formats, so i should prob just get over myself and shoot video!

Not only will most people not being able to tell the difference between formats - but if the shot looks good, who cares if they do?

TONS of shitty looking movies have been shot on 35mm - I say make the footage look GOOD, plain and simple. I think we say film looks good mainly because pretty much, the ONLY film footage we've seen has been shot by professionals, who could make the DVX footage look good too! We say footage looks "filmic" if it looks GOOD. But honestly, seeing what so many people on this board can do, the DVX can look good as well! And if you can make your footage look good, and you don't have the resources to shoot in ridiculously high resolution, then just shoot video! Go out there, use what you can, and
go mak a good movie!
