Just purchased DVX100B-- questions on camera settings

Hey guys--first poster here. So yeah, I just purchased a DVX100B and was wondering what people would recomend for the camera settings, what they should be on, to get the best quality shooting 16:9, 24P, for an upcoming short film I will be shooting in a bed and breakfast. Which looks better, 24P or 24P adv? Also, I hear that the 100b, when shooting 16:9, it electronically does the squeeze and is able to show you the end result of the squeeze (with the bars) in the lcd while shooting. How do I set up the camera so it does this for me? Anything that anyone could recomend would be of help. Thanks!

i would shoot 4:3 and convert later to 16:9 that way you can decide how you want to crop it.

I got a 16:9 overlay for my lcd so i can see where the safe zone is but if i go out of it i can just crop it different and not have to reshoot.

your questions are too general for a short reply. I suggest you do a little searching
