Just purchased 1st DVX100B

I just purchased my first DVX100B it has 23 hours on the heads.

And I'm wondering what tapes to use. Browsing the site I found that it is NOT GOOD to mix wet and dry tapes. Not knowing what the previous user used, with so little hours would it be ok for me to just go ahead and use same brand, dry tapes throughout my ownership? And also, any useful advice for getting the best bang for my buck out of this camera (tutorial sites, dvd's?)

Thanks alot!

I have used both (several) of the Sony and Panasonic tapes without issues.

Enjoy it your camera, very good purchase.

Yep, stick to a dry or wet brand and then get a head cleaner that is the same. Enjoy! The DVX100b was a joy and got me started. Now I am making a feature film on he HVX200 and planning a move to Scarlet in the future. The dvx100b is a kick butt camera. -Matt

just stick with the dry tapes as you said. it shouldn't be a problem

you should definetly get the DVX book by Barry Green. believe me, it's just a matter of time. even if you feel like you don't need it...you will
