There are different types- Panavision/Arri types for 35mm/Super16mm and Sony fit for broadcast models. Go for the Sony fit.. Or try the Aaton design, tight as a drum!
Nice mount by the way, similar to my moose bars but without the shoulder mount. Same problem with the front heavy design, a real strain after a while especially for ENG.

Your saying one of these would fit the DVX eye piece? Where would one go about finding one?

Kai thanks for posting man! I got to shoot a plan shot approximately five minutes of continuity pretty soon and was looking for a rig like that. I was doing some research on ebay and found different mini steadicam rigs, is there a signifant difference between on shoulder and steadicam design?
Many thanks!

[quote author=Kai link=board=Links;num=1093280463;start=0#0 date=08/23/04 at 10:01:03]I was after a shoulder rig that was quick to use and solid, more like a traditional shoulder mount cam (no springs, etc). The DVrigPro is a great rig, just didn't fit my needs this time around (overseas run & gun).

Man that's irritating. About six months ago I was looking for that exact rig, but nobody knew what the hell I was talking about, including Birns and Sawyer. Everybody told me that the only one that was available was for the XL1 and that wouldn't work. So, I made my own, which works perfectly fine, just doesn't look quite as snazzy as yours.
It's a crank... This particular one is a Chrosziel, but i'm sure others would probably work. I picked it up at 16x9 inc. I believe. Bout 80 bucks. It's really helpful for long focus pulls where before you'd have to remove your hand from the wheel and "re-grab" it to keep spinning it... this way it's one continuous turn.

I hear ya. Supposedly they (Birns and Sawyer) make these. I had to wait 3 weeks for them to get one finished since they were out. It's the same rig as the one for the XL1, but modified with a longer top rail to accomodate the flip out lcd. Also, those front handles can angle out in various positions for a wider grip, I just had them closed up in those pics.
With all those accessories attached to the DVX I was wondering which tripod heads and legs are you guys using. It looks like joachim is using a Sachler DV6 but I couldn't quite make it out . With all that extra weight which one would you use?
I have noted that to Kai also. Habbycam is hundred less, though those rails seem a bit thiner than the 2000. Anyone know the specs to confirm? Also would this rig be smoother than glide cam 4000? seems they are all around same price range.
i would believe the glidecam would be smoother for walking/running shots compared to a shoulder brace. what's great about kai's rig or a dvrigpro is it lessens camera shake/movement compared to handheld.
