By the way, the image is noise free when lit properly. Even with low light, it looks really good. What types of tapes are best? I thought that only Panasonic Master Series would suffice, but are there any of suggestions?
 
no p2 cards. seriously though, if someone wants to buy it off me for $1k markup, be my guest. It's really an awesome camera.

IF you have no p2 cards how do you know there is no noise if "lit properly"
I'm calling BS on this one....
 
i got my HVX-200 yesterday, with 1 #8 gig card.... any recommendations for shooting longer than 10 minutes without extra cards.

Since the tape transport is very similar to the DVX's, you can use Panny 60-minute tapes. Like the DVX, the HVX doesn't like the 80-minute tapes or non-Panny brands (something to do with different lubricants used on the non-Panny brands of cassettes).

i shot a few clips while connected to my computer to test the noise. the image is godly. does it make a difference if i'm shooting with p2?

when xbox's first came out, they were selling like crazy on ebay. why can't i do the same with hvx's? =] $7,000!

By the way, Michael, to give a more complete answer, you can certainly use the Master series tapes, they'll just cost a little more. Good luck.
 
i just shot some stuff of the sun setting. panasonic master tape, as recommended. i can't wait til i get my p2 card! i'll post the clips and grabs in the hvx grab section.
