My HV30 has just arrived. Thanks for all the info on this board, and the folks that answered my noobish questions.
I was agonizing over which camera to get, and decided on the HV30. It is relatively inexpensive, shoots HD, and 24p. So, this should get me started, and if my projects are successful, I can upgrade later to something a bit more sophisticated, like the HVX200 or the HPX 300.
I've looked at the HV30 footage, and if I do a decent job of lighting or shoot outdoors at the right time, I should get results that are acceptable to me, which is of course what counts.
Now I have to figure out how to shoot 24p and edit. Right now I've got access to Pinnacle 12, and I know that won't cut it.
So, I guess I have to get Neoscene, and or Sony vegas pro. Neoscene I can handle, Vegas pro, a little bit outside the budget after buying the camera. I hope I won't go bald pulling my hair out trying to get a decent workflow figured out.
