...and I'm intimidated!

Coming from the DVX100 it's a different beast, that's for sure.

Frankly I'm a touch overwhelmed but I know that I'll suss this beauty out. Looking forward to shooting both stills and some sweet HD footage. Especially when I get my FD adapter and some additional lenses.

Oh, and this kit lens is slooooooow. heh. Still, very nice.

I was the same way, Coming from the DVX100 as well. It just takes some practice. Just look around on the site for work flow habits and other tips and tricks and you should be good in no time!
 
Me too. I came from a VX-2000 with no SLR photo experience. So this forum has been invaluable. Still have a lot to learn. Just wish I wasn't so totally obsessed with this damn camera now! Seriously, am having a blast with it and couldn't be more pleased that I bought it.

Additional lenses make a world of difference. You're going to have fun!
 
I went from shooting commercials on the DVX100a to the GH1. I've been VERY happy with it so far. Except for the speed of the kit lens, but that's why I've been using some Nikon primes.
